Con le nuove Disney Wonder Cards, un’altra collezione nata dalla collaborazione con Disney fa il suo debutto da Topps. I collezionisti possono andare alla ricerca delle rare Parallel Cards numerate e delle Autograph Cards firmate dai doppiatori dei personaggi dei film Disney.
Descrizione
Con la collezione Disney Wonder, la famiglia delle Disney Trading Cards di Topps accoglie un nuovo membro. Il tema principale della collezione sono le principesse amate dai fan Disney, le icone reali, i fedeli compagni e i cattivi che spesso si trovano sul loro cammino.
Una particolarità della collezione è la combinazione tra un set di carta – che costituisce la maggior parte della collezione – e diverse categorie di inserti prodotte come Chrome Cards. Anche le Autograph Cards della collezione arrivano ai collezionisti nella versione Chrome di qualità superiore.
Base Cards
Il Base Set della collezione comprende 190 carte ed è suddiviso in diversi sottoinsiemi. Il Tier 1 presenta 100 personaggi Disney di spicco tratti dal mondo dei racconti e dai film di successo degli ultimi decenni. Il Tier 2 amplia questo gruppo con 50 carte dedicate ai personaggi secondari, prima che le principesse e i cattivi salgano alla ribalta con i due set Cartoon e Live Action, che completano il Base Set con le restanti 40 carte.
Il Base Set è completato da 100 Base Winter Variations, disponibili esclusivamente nelle Winter Mega Box, che riprendono il sottoinsieme Tier 1 non in rosa ma in una variante invernale leggermente azzurrata.
Parallels
Le Parallels della collezione variano a seconda dei sottoinsiemi del Base Set. Mentre il Tier 1 comprende sette varianti – tra cui le Diamante Parallels non numerate -, il numero di varianti diminuisce con l’aumentare del numero della carta. A partire dal Tier 2, esistono solo Parallels numerate /99 o inferiori, mentre le Parallels colorate delle categorie Cartoon e Live Action sono numerate fino a un massimo di /50.
Insert Cards
In totale, 15 categorie di inserti offrono moltissimo da scoprire e ammirare. Greetings From… porta i collezionisti in un viaggio attraverso l’universo Disney con design in stile cartolina, mentre le Enchanted Stickers uniscono il mondo delle carte e delle figurine. I Tapestries, esclusivi della Hobby Box, mostrano opere d’arte originali ispirate ai personaggi Disney più amati, trasformando ogni carta in un piccolo capolavoro.
Gli SHINY Chrome Inserts sono di qualità superiore e traggono ispirazione da Tamatoa di Oceania (Moana) e dalla sua ossessione per tutto ciò che luccica. La Cinderella’s Glass Slipper Chrome Die-Cut Card rende omaggio a uno dei simboli più iconici di Disney con una finitura lucente e brillante e, con soli 75 esemplari (oltre a una SuperFractor Parallel), sarà una delle carte più ricercate della collezione.
Un’altra categoria particolarmente rara è quella delle 20 PrincessFractors rosa scintillanti, ciascuna esistente una sola volta come vera One-of-One in tutta la collezione.
Un altro punto forte tra gli insert set sono le Sketch Cards disegnate a mano da diversi artisti, presenti in tre categorie: Build a Snowman Sketches (esclusiva Winter Mega Box), Princess Sketches (esclusiva Hobby Box) e Sketches all’interno della collezione. Topps non ha pubblicato un elenco dettagliato del numero di Sketch Cards né dei loro soggetti nelle diverse categorie, ma solo una lista dei nomi degli artisti.
