Con las nuevas Disney Wonder Cards, otra colección fruto de la colaboración con Disney celebra su estreno en Topps. Los coleccionistas pueden lanzarse a la caza de raras Parallel Cards numeradas, así como de Autograph Cards firmadas por los actores de voz de los personajes de las películas de Disney.
Descripción
Con la colección Disney Wonder, la familia de las Disney Trading Cards de Topps gana un nuevo miembro. El enfoque de la colección está en las princesas queridas por los fans de Disney, los iconos reales, los fieles compañeros y los villanos que se interponen regularmente en su camino.
Una característica especial de la colección es la combinación entre un set de papel – que constituye la mayor parte de la colección – y varias categorías insert producidas como Chrome Cards. Las Autograph Cards de la colección también se presentan en la versión Chrome de mayor calidad.
Base Cards
El Base Set de la colección consta de 190 cartas y se divide en varios subconjuntos. El Tier 1 incluye 100 personajes Disney destacados del mundo de los relatos y de las exitosas películas de Disney de las últimas décadas. El Tier 2 amplía este grupo con 50 cartas de personajes secundarios, antes de que las princesas y los villanos tomen el protagonismo con los dos sets Cartoon y Live Action, que aportan las 40 cartas restantes al Base Set.
El Base Set se complementa con 100 Base Winter Variations, que se encuentran exclusivamente en las Winter Mega Boxes y reflejan el subconjunto Tier 1 no en rosa, sino en una versión invernal ligeramente azulada.
Parallels
Las Parallels de la colección varían entre los distintos subconjuntos del Base Set. Mientras el Tier 1 incluye siete variantes – entre ellas las Diamante Parallels sin numeración -, el número de variantes disminuye a medida que aumenta el número de carta. A partir del Tier 2 solo existen Parallels numeradas a /99 o menos, y las Parallels de color de las categorías Cartoon y Live Action están numeradas como máximo hasta /50.
Insert Cards
Un total de 15 categorías de inserts ofrecen mucho por descubrir y admirar. Greetings From… lleva a los coleccionistas en un viaje por el universo Disney con diseños de postales, mientras que las Enchanted Stickers combinan el mundo de las cartas y los cromos. Los Tapestries, exclusivos de la Hobby Box, muestran obras de arte originales inspiradas en los personajes más queridos de Disney, convirtiendo cada carta en una pequeña obra maestra.
Los SHINY Chrome Inserts son algo más exclusivos, inspirados en Tamatoa de Moana y su obsesión por todo lo que brilla. La Cinderella’s Glass Slipper Chrome Die-Cut Card rinde homenaje a uno de los símbolos más icónicos de Disney con un acabado brillante y reluciente, y con solo 75 ejemplares (además de una SuperFractor Parallel), será una de las cartas más buscadas de la colección.
Otra categoría especialmente rara son las 20 PrincessFractors rosadas y brillantes, que existen solo una vez cada una como auténticas One-of-One en toda la colección.
Otro punto culminante entre los insert sets son las Sketch Cards dibujadas a mano por varios artistas, que se presentan en tres categorías: Build a Snowman Sketches (exclusivo de Winter Mega Box), Princess Sketches (exclusivo de Hobby Box) y Sketches dentro de la colección. Topps no ha publicado un resumen detallado del número de Sketch Cards ni de sus motivos en las distintas categorías, solo una lista con los nombres de los artistas.
