Avec les nouvelles Disney Wonder Cards, une autre collection issue de la collaboration avec Disney fait ses débuts chez Topps. Les collectionneurs peuvent partir à la chasse aux rares Parallel Cards numérotées ainsi qu’aux Autograph Cards des doubleurs des personnages des films Disney.
Description
Avec la collection Disney Wonder, la famille des Disney Trading Cards de Topps s’agrandit. L’accent est mis sur les princesses adorées des fans de Disney, les icônes royales, les fidèles compagnons et les méchants qui leur font régulièrement face.
Une particularité de la collection réside dans le mélange entre un set papier – qui constitue la majeure partie de la collection – et plusieurs catégories d’inserts produites en Chrome Cards. Les Autograph Cards de la collection sont également proposées dans la version Chrome de qualité supérieure.
Base Cards
Le Base Set de la collection comprend 190 cartes et se divise en plusieurs sous-ensembles. Le Tier 1 rassemble 100 personnages Disney emblématiques issus de l’univers des contes et des films à succès des dernières décennies. Le Tier 2 complète ce groupe avec 50 cartes de personnages secondaires, avant que les princesses et les méchants ne prennent le devant de la scène avec les deux sets Cartoon et Live Action, qui apportent les 40 cartes restantes au Base Set.
Le Base Set est complété par 100 Base Winter Variations, disponibles exclusivement dans les Winter Mega Boxes et reprenant le sous-ensemble Tier 1 non pas en rose, mais dans une version hivernale légèrement bleutée.
Parallels
Les Parallels de la collection diffèrent selon les sous-ensembles du Base Set. Tandis que le Tier 1 comprend sept variantes – dont les Diamante Parallels non numérotées – , le nombre de variantes diminue à mesure que le numéro de carte augmente. À partir du Tier 2, seules des Parallels numérotées /99 ou moins sont disponibles, et les Parallels colorées des catégories Cartoon et Live Action sont numérotées jusqu’à /50 au maximum.
Insert Cards
Au total, 15 catégories d’inserts offrent de nombreuses découvertes et merveilles. Greetings From… emmène les collectionneurs dans un voyage à travers l’univers Disney avec des designs de cartes postales, tandis que les Enchanted Stickers combinent le monde des cartes et des stickers. Les Tapestries, exclusives à la Hobby Box, présentent des œuvres d’art originales inspirées des personnages Disney les plus aimés, transformant chaque carte en une miniature d’œuvre d’art.
Les SHINY Chrome Inserts se distinguent par leur finition premium, inspirée de Tamatoa, le crabe de Vaiana, et de son obsession pour tout ce qui brille. La Cinderella’s Glass Slipper Chrome Die-Cut Card rend hommage à l’un des symboles les plus emblématiques de Disney, avec une finition brillante et éclatante ; avec seulement 75 exemplaires (ainsi qu’une SuperFractor Parallel), elle devrait devenir l’une des cartes les plus recherchées de la collection.
Une autre catégorie particulièrement rare est celle des 20 PrincessFractors roses et scintillantes, chacune existant une seule fois dans toute la collection en véritable One-of-One.
Un autre point fort parmi les sets d’inserts est constitué des Sketch Cards dessinées à la main par différents artistes, réparties en trois catégories : Build a Snowman Sketches (exclusif à la Winter Mega Box), Princess Sketches (exclusif à la Hobby Box) et Sketches au sein de la collection. Topps n’a pas publié de détails sur le nombre de Sketch Cards ni sur leurs motifs dans les différentes catégories, seulement une liste des noms des artistes.
