For the second time, the 2024-25 TOPPS Dynasty UEFA Champions League Soccer Cards mark Topps’ most premium collection in the soccer category. Football fans among collectors can look forward to elegant on-card autograph cards and cards featuring match-worn relics.
Description
After Topps’ first Dynasty Soccer collection for the 2022/23 season reached collectors with a significant delay, Topps decided to skip the 2023/24 season and returns to collectors with the 2024-25 TOPPS Dynasty UEFA Champions League Soccer Cards. This enables a significantly more timely release in relation to the season represented in the content, which plays a not insignificant role in the world of soccer sportscards.
The second Dynasty soccer release also claims its place among the most high-end collections of the season, underlined by exclusively on-card autographs and match-worn memorabilia.
Each Hobby Box of the collection contains just one autograph or autograph relic card from the stars and legends of Europe’s elite competition. However, this card is numbered to a maximum of /10, emphasizing the exclusivity of both the collection and the cards it contains.
While the previous Dynasty collection placed its focus on the legends of the competition, Topps has included significantly more active players in the current release and, for the first time, integrated a larger number of promising young talents as rookies. The UEFA Women’s Champions League is also represented for the first time, featuring the two world footballers Alexia Putellas and Aitana Bonmati from FC Barcelona.
Broadly speaking, the collection can be divided into two types of cards: pure autograph cards and autograph relic cards that incorporate additional memorabilia pieces. Visually, it is immediately noticeable that Topps has provided significantly more space for player signatures on most cards, after signatures and imagery often collided in the previous collection, making them partly difficult to recognize.
Autograph Cards
While the total number of autograph cards has slightly decreased compared with the debut release from the 2022/23 season, the collection gains two additional autograph card categories with the Debut Day Inscriptions, which include a reference to each player’s UEFA Champions League debut alongside the autograph, and the Intercontinental Triple Autographs, featuring signatures of three players on a single card.
They are supplemented by the cross-collection Marks of Excellence cards, for which Topps draws on the 2023/24 season and, in this way, brings Lamine Yamal into the collection as a rookie. Since this season was skipped in the Dynasty releases, there are no Dynasty rookie cards of him, and no additional cards of him were included in the current collection either.
Autograph Relic Cards
Even more premium and desirable than the pure autograph cards are the autograph relics, which combine an autograph with a piece of match-worn jersey in various forms. In addition to the classic Autograph Patch Relics, the Dual Relics Autographs feature two jersey pieces from a single player, while the Dual Autograph Patch Relics increase this concept to include signatures and jersey pieces from two players.
Alongside numerous other stars and legends who appear in the Dynasty collection for the first time, the inclusion of Mohamed Salah is undoubtedly noteworthy, as it marks the first time he has signed for one of the major manufacturers, adding further exclusivity to his cards.
A particular highlight is the Jumbo Club Crest Autographs, which exist only once per player as one-of-one cards for 44 players and feature a specially selected jersey piece showing the club crest as memorabilia.
Availability
Each UEFA Champions League Dynasty 2024/25 box contains 1 autograph or autograph relic card from one of the stars included in this collection.
The release date announced by Topps for 2024-25 TOPPS Dynasty UEFA Champions League Soccer Cards is Thursday, the 4th of December 2025.
From that point on, Dynasty boxes will be available on the Topps website or from retailers specialized in sportscards.
