With a new high-end set, Topps celebrates the 125th anniversary of the legendary AC Milan. Fans of the Rossoneri can look forward to autograph, relic and numbered parallel cards of some of the greatest icons in the club’s history in the 2024-25 TOPPS AC Milan 125° Anniversario Soccer Cards collection.
Description
One of the most successful football clubs in the world celebrated its 125th anniversary shortly before Christmas last year. About one month later, the official trading cards for this special milestone are being released with the 2024-25 TOPPS AC Milan 125° Anniversario Soccer Cards collection.
Designed by Topps as a high-end set, the product brings not only cards that tell the story of the northern Italian club, but also numerous autograph and relic cards of some of the biggest legends from recent decades.
Collectors can look forward to names such as Andrea Pirlo, Andriy Shevchenko, Clarence Seedorf, Filippo Inzaghi, Gennaro Gattuso, Kaká, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo Nazario, Ruud Gullit and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Base Cards
The collection does not include a base set in the traditional sense. Instead, it is better described as 6 parallel thematic categories that coexist. For clarity, the 81 base cards of the collection have nevertheless been grouped into a single base set with 6 subsets in the checklist below. A standard version of the cards is not planned for this high-end set either. All base cards in the collection, with one included per box, are numbered parallel cards.
Parallels
There are a total of 6 parallel versions in the collection. These are numbered to /99, /49, /25, /10, /5 and 1/1. Topps does not specify whether every card in the Topps AC Milan 125° Anniversario collection exists in all numberings.
Autograph Cards
The main focus of the collection lies in the autograph cards and autograph relic cards, four of which are included in every box.
A special highlight of the collection is the on-card autographs of long-time captain Paolo Maldini, who receives a separate category dedicated to his two-decade career with the Rossoneri.
With Daniele Massaro and Franco Baresi, two more legends join the particularly popular cards that feature signatures directly on the cards instead of sticker autographs. An on-card autograph can be found in roughly every 15th box of the collection.
Fans will also appreciate the I Tre Moschettieri Triple Autograph Card, uniting former Dutch internationals Marco van Basten, Frank Rijkaard and Ruud Gullit, who dominated European club football with the team in the late 1980s and are now brought together once more on a card.
Autograph Relic Cards
The collection also includes matchworn relic autograph cards, which Topps places in roughly every 4th box. Alongside legends, fans can also look forward to relics of active players such as Christian Pulisic or Rafael Leão.
Availability
Each box of the Topps AC Milan 125th Anniversary collection contains 5 cards, all protected in magnetic holders. It includes 4 autograph cards and 1 numbered parallel card.
The release date announced by Topps for 2024-25 TOPPS AC Milan 125° Anniversario Soccer Cards is Thursday, the 30th of January 2025.
From that date, the Topps Milan Anniversary Boxes can be found on the Topps website or at retailers specializing in Sports Cards.
