For the fifth time already, Topps is expanding the Cards for the European club competitions with a Japan Edition for the Asian market. In addition to a slightly adapted design, collectors can look forward to Cherry Blossom Chrome Variations, an exclusive insert category and special Mojo Parallels.
Description
While the new 2025/26 season is already underway in Europe, Topps is once again digging into the box from the previous season and bringing out the regionalized version of the UEFA Flagship Collection for the 24/25 campaign, made especially for the Japanese market.
This version comes with a reduced number of insert and autograph categories, making it noticeably smaller in scope. On the other hand, it features exclusive Parallels and the Hero Insert Cards that are only available here.
Base Cards
The Base Set of the 2024-25 TOPPS Japan Edition UEFA Club Competitions Soccer Cards corresponds in content to the Flagship main collection and includes the same 300 players from the three competitions UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Conference League. In previous years, the Cards of the Japan Edition were mainly recognizable by the Japanese characters on the back. For the 2024/25 Edition, Topps has integrated a striking Japanese flag on the front, making its affiliation with this edition unmistakable.
Parallels
A special feature of the Japan Edition are the Mojo Parallels, which can already be seen on the first preview images, although Topps has not yet released any further details about them.
Insert Cards
For the three insert categories, Topps has partly drawn from the Flagship Collection, bringing the New Era Inserts into the Japan Edition. In addition, the Wonderkids Inserts from the Chrome Collection are included, with their lettering adapted to the Japan Edition. Exclusive to this edition are the 10 Heroes Inserts, which can only be pulled from the packs of this Japan Edition.
Autograph Cards
With 21 Autograph Cards, the portfolio for fans of signed cards is relatively compact in this edition. However, it includes the Autograph Cards of Japanese national team players Ayase Ueda and Wataru Endo, who have not previously appeared in either the Flagship or the Chrome Collection.
Topps has not yet provided any information on the odds of finding an Autograph Card in a Box.
Also part of the collection are 3 Cards from the cross-series Marks of Excellence 2023/24 On-Card Autograph lineup, which Topps has spread across several UEFA collections. Lucky collectors can look forward to an on-card autograph from the two legends Davor Šuker and Henrik Larsson or Barcelona’s current midfield star Pedri.
