Description
With the Simplicidad Cards for the 2024/25 season, one of Topps’ most popular On-Demand sets enters its fourth year. The collection, which in its first year consisted only of classic black-and-white photography, has been gradually expanded by Topps over the years and also sees several new elements for the current season.
Base Cards
The Base Set of the 2024-25 TOPPS Simplicidad UEFA Club Competitions Soccer Cards includes 131 Cards, an increase of 55% compared to last year’s edition. The days of a small, compact set focused primarily on Spanish football and its stars are over with the current release. Instead, Topps offers with the Simplicidad 2024/25 Cards a broad overview of established and emerging stars of the European club competitions.
Returning, however, are the Spanish category names that give the set its distinctive Spanish flair. Topps has divided the Base Cards into a total of 7 sub-sets. These include the familiar “Estrellas Españoles”, dedicated exclusively to Spanish stars, and the “Estrellas Internacionales” category featuring stars of the European club competitions. Also back are the “Portrait” Cards and the “Leyendas” featuring stars of earlier eras. New this year are the “Megaestrellas”, the “La Emoción” Cards and the “Canteranos” Cards with young talents. Each category has its own design, based on the classic Simplicidad approach.
Parallels
Topps has produced 6 Parallel variants for the Cards, numbered to /99, /49, /25, /10, /5 and 1/1. As usual for Topps On-Demand sets, it is possible that not every Card exists in all six variants. The manufacturer does not provide further details on this.
Autograph Cards
For the first time, each box guarantees an Autograph Card from the stars of the set, alongside two numbered Parallels. In addition to the Base Autographs, collectors can once again look forward to the Dual Autograph Cards introduced last year, which feature signatures from two top stars of the collection.
The highlight of this year’s set is a Triple Autograph Card of Barcelona’s legendary MSN attacking trio, with signatures from Lionel Messi, Luis Suárez and Neymar Jr.
Availability
After Topps increased the content of the UEFA Club Competitions Simplicidad boxes to 48 Cards last year, they are reverting this year and reducing the total number of Cards per box to 36, distributed across 6 packs with 6 Cards each. Collectors aiming to complete the Simplicidad Base Set now face quite a challenge, both because of its expanded size and the reduced number of Cards per box.
The release date announced by Topps for 2024-25 TOPPS Simplicidad UEFA Club Competitions Soccer Cards is Friday, the 7th of March 2025.
The Topps Simplicidad 2025 Boxes will be available exclusively in the Spanish Topps online shop. There are no ordering restrictions, so collectors outside Spain can place orders there as well.
