Already during the first half of the current season, Topps kicks off the new hobby season for soccer cards with the 2024-25 TOPPS UEFA Club Competitions Soccer Cards. The Flagship collection thus brings the current stars and legends of European club competitions to collectors as early as December.
Description
Earlier than ever before, Topps launches the new 2024/25 soccer cards season this year with its more extensive hobby collections. As in previous years, the Flagship collection leads the way, providing the defining design for numerous further releases of the current season and awaiting collectors this season with three product variants: the hobby boxes with one autograph, relic or autograph relic card, as well as the blaster boxes and the new hanger boxes.
In the 2024-25 TOPPS UEFA Club Competitions Soccer Cards collection, Topps presents the current stars, best young talents and greatest legends from the clubs of the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Europa Conference League.
Base Cards
These form a 200-card base set into which Topps, as in last year’s collection, has integrated several subsets. These include the Title Winners featuring the three winners of last season’s competitions, 5 combo cards and 15 Future Stars. In addition, 25 short print and 10 super short print base card image variations can once again be pulled from packs.
Parallels
Compared to the previous collection, Topps has almost doubled the number of parallel variants, but many of them are used exclusively either in hobby & hanger boxes or in blaster boxes. A special new addition are the unique First Cards parallels numbered to 1/1, which represent the very first base card printed for each player for this collection.
Insert Cards
The collection is expanded by 11 insert categories. The more common Best of the Best UCL Legends, Cover Stars, Historic Captains, New Era and Trophy Chasers inserts are joined by the much rarer Hype, Mindgame, Mojo Chrome, Topps UCL Sketch Cards as well as the blaster-exclusive Epicenter inserts. Also returning are the Ultimate Stage Chrome Cards, which Topps once again includes in an extra Chrome Preview Pack with the hobby boxes.
The successful cross-promotion The Grail, which extended across several collections last season, is reissued in the current season with Lionel Messi. The first of a total of 9 cards to be collected featuring the Argentine superstar can be pulled by especially lucky collectors from packs of this 2024-25 TOPPS UEFA Club Competitions Soccer collection.
Autograph Cards
In addition to 56 different Base & Future Stars autographs, collectors can also pull signed variants of the insert categories Best of the Best: UCL Legends, Cover Stars, Historic Captains, New Era and Trophy Chasers from packs.
These are joined by the Ultimate Stage autographs, which also have a chrome variant that is found exclusively in the silver bonus packs of the hobby boxes.
A highlight of the collection are the Teammates Dual Autographs featuring the signatures of two players from the same club on one card, as well as the collection-spanning Marks of Excellence on-card autograph cards.
Relic & Autograph Relic Cards
With the Premium Relics and the Topps Superstar Relics, there are two categories that are each available in a version with and without an autograph on the card. While the Topps Superstar Relics can be pulled from hobby boxes in numerous parallel variants, the numbered Premium Relics are significantly rarer.
Availability
The hobby boxes of the UCC Flagship collection come with 192 cards, distributed across 24 packs with 8 cards each. These include 1 autograph, relic or autograph relic card, as well as 3 numbered parallels. As a bonus, each box contains a silver promo pack, which includes 4 Ultimate Stage Chrome Cards and, with some luck, even an Ultimate Stage Chrome Autograph Card.
The more affordable blaster boxes also offer a chance at autograph cards, albeit with a significantly lower probability. Relic cards and autograph relic cards, however, are reserved for the higher-end hobby boxes.
With the hanger boxes, Topps introduces another product format to this collection, which contains 35 cards at a very affordable entry price. These include exclusive Pink Sparkle parallels that can only be found in these hanger boxes.
The release date announced by Topps for 2024-25 TOPPS UEFA Club Competitions Soccer Cards is Friday, the 13th of December 2024.
The products will be available from that date in the Topps online shop or from retailers specializing in trading cards.
