Panini’s second darts release is dedicated to the PDC Premier League, the tournament format that takes place every spring. Darts fans can look forward to 1 Autograph Card and 2 numbered Parallels in the 2025 PANINI PDC Premier League Darts Cards Boxes.
Description
After the great success Panini achieved last year with the first-ever Trading Cards for the Darts World Championship, the second collection conceived in Stuttgart, Germany is dedicated to the PDC Premier League.
Since 2005, this tournament format has been firmly anchored in the annual darts calendar and has established itself as one of the most important events behind the World Championship, thrilling darts fans across Europe every spring. Unlike the Worlds, only the top 4 of the PDC Order of Merit qualify, as well as 4 additional players who receive a wildcard from the PDC.
This results in a high-caliber field that tours the largest arenas in Europe on matchdays before the big showdown at London’s O2 Arena, where the annual winner is crowned in the final.
Panini honors this event series with the new PDC Premier League Darts collection, which – unlike the annual World Championship collections – is designed as a one-shot. Thus, the collection not only provides an overview of the 2025 field but also covers the complete history since the beginnings of the Premier League. Darts fans are thereby given the opportunity to secure not only special Cards of current players but also of some of the greatest legends of the sport.
Base Cards
Panini has included in the Base Set all players who have officially participated in the PDC Premier League since its inception in 2005. This also explains the somewhat unusual total of 41 Cards for a Base Set, completion of which provides a historical overview of the entire field for this format.
Parallels
Panini has produced 8 different Parallel variants for the Base Cards. These include the unnumbered Pink Cracked Ice Parallels marketed as a Box Hit, as well as 7 further variants numbered to /100, /80, /60, /25, /9, /5 and 1/1. For the Insert Sets there is slightly different numbering and further color variants, for which the checklist at the end of the article provides more information. The Autograph Cards in the collection are available exclusively as numbered Parallels, with a maximum print run of 50 per Card.
Insert Cards
For the PDC Premier collection, Panini has designed 5 thematic Insert Sets that bring the history of the Premier League and its stars onto the Cards.
Contenders expands the collection to include players who were allowed to complement the field on individual matchdays in 2019 and 2020. Players like Glen Durrant, Luke Humphries, Max Hopp or Fallon Sherrock used the stage they were given and played their way into the hearts of darts fans with their performances.
Portrait Lightning reflects the two sides of the game: on one matchday a player can leave the stage as a shining winner, while on another the evening can be over as early as the quarter-final.
Precision honors the accuracy that characterizes modern darts, while Timeless Moments brings special events from Premier League history back to life.
Walk On celebrates the goosebump moments that arise even before the match, when the players, accompanied by their individually chosen walk-on music, climb the stage.
Autograph Cards
Panini has divided the Autograph Cards of the PDC Premier League stars into four categories. Joining the Base Autographs and Contenders Autographs, based on the designs of the Base Cards and Contenders Inserts, are the Legends Autographs and Winners Autographs categories.
Legends Autographs honor the big names of the Premier League’s past with imagery from their last Premier League appearance, while Winners Autographs are reserved for the 9 previous winners of the format and show them with the trophy.
Every Autograph Card in the collection is numbered, underlining its rarity. To represent all players in equal quantities within the collection, some players’ autographs do not have /50 and /25 versions. The more Autograph categories a player appears in, the higher the likelihood of encountering such a Short-Print or Super-Short-Print Autograph Card.
