With the 2024-25 Topps Definitive Collection UEFA Club Competitions Soccer Cards, one of Topps’ high-end brands celebrates its debut in the UEFA Club Competitions. Collectors can look forward to a premium-quality collection that focuses entirely on on-card autographs, exclusive relics, and strictly limited cards.
Description
Known from the baseball segment, the Definitive Collection at Topps stands for a strong focus on on-card autographs, exclusive memorabilia, and particularly low print runs. With the 2024-25 TOPPS Definitive Collection UEFA Club Competitions Cards, Topps is now transferring this concept to the soccer segment for the first time.
The main focus of this new high-end collection is on on-card autograph cards featuring players from the past and present of European club competitions. Active superstars such as Erling Haaland, Lamine Yamal, Jude Bellingham, or Harry Kane meet legends like Ronaldinho, Zinedine Zidane, Zlatan Ibrahimović, Kaká, Ronaldo, Marco van Basten, or Sir Alex Ferguson.
In addition, collectors can pull some very special cards with event-related relics from packs of the 2024–25 Topps Definitive UEFA Club Competitions collection, containing fragments of Ballon d’Or trophies or original draw slips from UEFA draws integrated into the cards.
Autograph Cards
The autograph cards, which make up the largest part of the collection, have been divided by Topps into nine different thematic areas.
The Defining Images Autographs pick up iconic image motifs from the careers of active players and former stars, while promising young talents can be found in the Rookie Autograph categories.
Some of the greatest icons from the history of European club competitions appear in the Legendary Autographs. The Historic Champions Autographs, on the other hand, include exclusively players who have won the UEFA Champions League.
A special conceptual highlight is represented by the Superstar Idols Inscription Cards. On these cards, players have handwritten the name of their personal football idol in addition to their signature. Similarly structured are the Definitive Moments Autographs, which focus on individual historic events or achievements.
From the originally announced Bold collection, which Topps has since abandoned, the Made of Gold set with cards of Jude Bellingham and Lionel Messi has been integrated into this collection. In addition to the Bold logo that remains on the cards, the differing parallel numbering and color scheme also clearly indicate that these cards were originally intended for a different collection.
The cross-collection Marks of Excellence Autographs, which have been used across multiple releases, also appear in the Definitive Collection and are included at least once per box.
Autograph Relic Cards
With the autograph relic cards, Topps combines the signatures of the stars with, in some cases, particularly exclusive memorabilia. The main focus of the autograph relic cards is on the Rookie Patch Autograph Relics, featuring young players such as Endrick or Ethan Nwaneri.
Other autograph relic cards are available exclusively as one-of-one pieces. These include the Starball Patch Autograph Relics, which incorporate the UEFA Champions League logo patch from the players’ jerseys, as well as the oversized Golden Framed Draw Card Autograph Relics that contain original draw slips from the UEFA draws.
Additional highlights include the unique Autograph Trophy Shavings Relics, which contain material remnants from trophies such as the Ballon d’Or or the UEFA Champions League. For young star Lamine Yamal, the current recipient of the Kopa Trophy, Topps has also created a one-of-one autograph relic card featuring the red carpet from the Ballon d’Or gala.
Availability
Each hobby box of the 2024-25 Topps Definitive UEFA Club Competitions Soccer Cards collection contains eight cards, with each card being either an autograph card, an autograph relic card, or a pure relic card. At least one Marks of Excellence Autograph Card is guaranteed per box.
The release date announced by Topps for 2024-25 TOPPS Definitive Collection UEFA Club Competitions Soccer Cards is Thursday, the 18th of December 2025.
From this point on, the Topps UEFA Definitive boxes will be available via the EQL process on the Topps website or from retailers specialized in sportscards.
