2026 TOPPS Brooklyn Collection Captain America 85th Anniversary Trading Cards
To mark the 85th anniversary of Captain America, Topps is stepping outside the sports arena for the first time with the Brooklyn Collection and dedicating the release to what is arguably the most famous patriotic hero in the Marvel Universe. Each 2026 Topps Brooklyn Collection Captain America 85th Anniversary Hobby box contains two numbered parallels for collectors, and with a bit of luck they may also pull an Autograph Card from their box.
Description
The Brooklyn Collection, introduced by Topps in 2018 as a premium baseball series, has secured a firm place in the hobby thanks to its deliberately understated design, high-quality card materials and limited Parallel variants. The brand is known for its overall classic look, focusing less on spectacular effects and more on a timeless presentation. With the Captain America edition, Topps transfers this concept to a Non-Sport theme for the first time.
The choice of hero is an obvious one, as Steve Rogers comes from Brooklyn, the New York borough that also lends its name to the series. The collection deliberately highlights this connection and places the character’s origin at the center just as much as his role as a symbolic figure within the Marvel Universe. At the same time, the series remains faithful to its design philosophy and combines classic Marvel aesthetics with modern card technology.
Although the collection was ultimately assigned by Topps to the year 2026, and thus to the year of Captain America’s 85th anniversary, the delivered boxes and the Brooklyn logo used in communication still display the year 2025.
Base Cards
The base set includes a total of 50 cards and brings together Captain America with numerous allies and adversaries from comics and film adaptations. In addition to several depictions of Steve Rogers, well known characters from his circle also take center stage. The design draws inspiration from classic Marvel illustrations and incorporates visual elements reminiscent of earlier comic eras, without appearing like a purely retro series. Instead, the set combines illustrations and motifs from different phases of Marvel history.
Parallels
A total of 8 different parallel variants await collectors, all of which are numbered and whose highest numbering is /99. The Brooklyn Blue & Silver Parallels were designed specifically for this collection and are limited to 41 copies, referencing the year 1941 when Captain America first appeared in the comics. Each Hobby box contains two numbered parallels.
Insert Cards
Alongside the base set, a range of themed insert categories forms the thematic core of the collection. The TEAM CAP Inserts present some of the hero’s most important allies, while NEW YORK’S HEROES honors characters whose origins also lie in New York City.
With the TOPPS DISTINGUISHED SERVICE Inserts, the collection picks up a familiar insert concept from the baseball field and focuses on characters from the Marvel Universe who are portrayed in the stories as members of the armed forces. A local connection is also created by the WELCOME TO BROOKLYN POSTCARD Inserts. These cards are designed like historical postcards and show Captain America in front of scenes from different Brooklyn neighborhoods, inspired by postcard designs from the first half of the 20th century.
The YOU ARE WORTHY Inserts use PETG material and a background in the style of a stained glass window, in front of which Topps presents characters who are considered worthy in Marvel lore to wield Thor’s hammer Mjölnir. BORN ON THE 4TH OF JULY, on the other hand, appears on acetate material and features different versions of Captain America from various decades, combined with fireworks motifs in the background.
Additional categories include the newspaper styled LIVING LEGEND Inserts and the CAPTAIN AMERICA BROOKLYN STATUE Inserts, which show several incarnations of Captain America next to the real Captain America statue in Brooklyn.
As with many Topps entertainment products, hand drawn SKETCH CARDS also play a major role. In addition to classic sketch cards, each of which is a unique one of one piece, there are also special Shield Die Cut Sketch Cards whose card design is inspired by Captain America’s shield.
Autograph Cards
When it comes to Autograph Cards, the collection relies on signatures from actors of the Marvel Studios films as well as signatures from comic artists and writers.
Among the most prominent signers from the Marvel Cinematic Universe are Chris Evans as Captain America, Anthony Mackie as his successor Sam Wilson, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury. Other well known MCU faces are also represented, such as Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Paul Rudd as Ant Man, Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter or Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.
A highlight are the Dual and Triple Autographs, where multiple actors are combined on one card, including pairings such as Chris Evans and Sebastian Stan or trio cards featuring Evans, Mackie and Stan.
In addition, the series also includes autographs from well known comic artists such as Adam Kubert, Esad Ribic, Marc Silvestri, Steve McNiven and Mike Deodato, who have shaped the appearance of Captain America and other Marvel characters for many years.
Availability
Each Brooklyn Collection Hobby box contains 1 pack with 10 cards, among which are 2 numbered parallel cards. On average, one of the sought after Autograph Cards can be pulled from roughly every 2nd to 3rd box.
The release date announced by Topps for 2026 TOPPS Brooklyn Collection Captain America 85th Anniversary Trading Cards is Friday, the 6th of March 2026.
From that date onward, the boxes will be available in the Topps online shop in the United States. In the European Topps online shops they will be offered to interested collectors starting March 11 through the EQL process.
