Description
The Fan Set series, newly introduced by Topps two years ago and designed mainly for newcomers to the hobby, is entering its third season. Following the first Fan Set release for the Real Madrid team, five more top European clubs are getting their turn simultaneously shortly before the end of November.
Alongside the 2024-25 TOPPS FC Barcelona Official Fan Set Soccer Cards, Topps is simultaneously releasing sets for the teams of Benfica, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and FC Red Bull Salzburg. Fan Sets for FC Bayern München, Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United have also been announced for December.
As an affordable entry-level option, the Fan Sets serve as the precursor to the Topps Team Sets released somewhat later. These sit in the next higher price range, usually come with slightly more extensive content and a higher chance of autograph cards, and in some cases also include memorabilia cards.
Base Cards
All Fan Sets for the 2024/25 season use an identical design that is slightly customized with the respective club colors. At the heart of each Fan Set is a 20-card base set featuring the most important players from the current squad.
Parallels
Topps has not officially released any information about the parallels, leaving collectors in the dark as to which parallel variants can be pulled from the boxes.
Insert Cards
The 2024-25 TOPPS FC Barcelona Official Fan Set base cards are complemented by four insert sets: the Golden Future inserts already familiar from the previous year, featuring players whom Topps predicts will have a significant future at the club, and the Golden Treasures, which are One-of-One cards available only once per player across the entire print run. New additions are the Monolith inserts, on which Topps primarily features club legends, and the Fanatic Fans inserts.
Autograph Cards
Particularly lucky collectors will find another foil trading card in their boxes alongside the two parallel cards, featuring the autograph of one of FC Barcelona’s current top stars or a club legend. However, Topps does not provide any more detailed information about the frequency of autograph cards in the 2024-25 TOPPS FC Barcelona Official Fan Set boxes.
Availability
All 28 cards in a box are contained in a single pre-packed pack featuring a colorful mix of base and insert cards. This includes the two parallel cards guaranteed in each TOPPS FC Barcelona Fan Set 2024/25 box, one of which is always an unnumbered Electro parallel, while the other is a numbered parallel card.
The release date announced by Topps for 2024-25 TOPPS FC Barcelona Official Fan Set Soccer Cards is Friday, the 22nd of November 2024.
From that date, the 2024-25 FC Barcelona Fan Set boxes are offered by Topps through its own online shops in Europe and by retailers specializing in sports cards.
