The Chrome Cards for the US professional league MLS are entering a new season. In the 2024 Topps Chrome Major League Soccer Cards collection, collectors can expect 2 Autograph Cards per Hobby Box, as well as a new product variant with the Mania Boxes.
Description
The US Major League Soccer (MLS) continues to shine under the star power of appearances by Argentine exceptional talent Lionel Messi. This is fully reflected in this year’s 2024 TOPPS Chrome Major League Soccer Cards collection, which Topps has built around the superstar of Inter Miami.
Base Cards
Nevertheless, the product fulfills its original purpose as a league collection and presents collectors with a 200-card base set featuring players from all MLS teams. Integrated into the base set are 2 subsets: MLS Flashbacks with legends of Major League Soccer and Pitch Prodigies featuring the league’s promising young talents. The base set is rounded out by 10 Base Image Variations.
Parallels
In total, Topps has produced 24 parallel variants for the MLS Chrome collection, 19 of which are numbered to /250 or lower. With the exception of the Refractor and SuperFractor parallels, all parallels in the collection are product-exclusive and therefore only available in one of the three offered product variants.
Insert Cards
Topps has expanded the insert section once again this year and presents collectors with 10 different insert categories. Here as well, Lionel Messi plays a dominant role. The South Beach Superstars category, consisting of 10 cards and found exclusively in the Mania Boxes, is dedicated entirely to the Argentine world-class footballer.
Collectors of previous MLS collections will recognize categories such as Big City Strikers, which this time comes with an additional Skylight Variation, as well as the Let’s Go, historic Topps 1964 Chrome, and Topps Chrome Layers inserts. New additions for the 2024 season include the American Ink, Memory Makers, Team Tags, and The Brave inserts.
Autograph Cards
Collectors of autograph cards can look forward to 91 different Base Autographs featuring the league’s current stars. Buyers of the Mania Boxes should note that only 19 of the Base Autographs are included in these boxes, while the remaining players can only be pulled from the other products.
In addition, collectors can find 8 Dual Autographs and 10 MLS Flashback Autographs featuring great stars from earlier eras across packs of the 2024 Topps Chrome MLS collection.
Exclusively included in the Topps MLS Mania Box are the Memory Makers & MLS Trailblazers Autographs, which also focus on the league’s legends.
Autograph Relic Cards
A special highlight of the Topps Chrome MLS 2024 collection are the MLS Debut Patch Autographs, which combine an autograph card with a jersey patch from the respective player’s first MLS match. For this purpose, a special MLS Debut Patch was introduced on team jerseys, which Topps has now incorporated into trading cards.
Availability
The release date announced by Topps for 2024 TOPPS Chrome Major League Soccer Cards is Friday, the 6th of December 2024.
From this date onward, the products of the collection will be available in the Topps online shop or from retailers specializing in sportscards.
