Description
The 2026 FIFA World Cup in the USA, Mexico and Canada is approaching. However, before Panini releases the official sports card collections for the tournament held from June 11 to July 19, 2026, several collections under the title “Road to FIFA World Cup” focus on the qualification phase of the tournament.
Alongside the 2025-26 PANINI Select Road to FIFA World Cup 2026 Soccer Cards, Panini is also releasing a Donruss, a National Treasures and a Noir collection on this theme.
The Road to FIFA World Cup 2026 Select collection builds on the proven structure of this series, so collectors of previous Select collections will encounter many familiar categories. In addition to the hobby boxes, blaster boxes and mega boxes expand the product offering for this collection.
Base Cards
The BASE SET of the PANINI Select Road to FIFA World Cup 2026 collection includes 250 cards and is divided into the typical three-tier subset system of Select collections with different designs and increasing rarity: TERRACE and MEZZANINE with 100 cards each in portrait format, and FIELD LEVEL with 50 cards in landscape format.
Parallels
Details about the parallels will only be revealed upon release of the collection. However, Panini has already announced the Panini Logo parallels numbered to /61 as a new variant for this collection.
Insert Cards
The total of 8 insert card categories matches those of other Select Soccer releases from this season. More commonly found in packs are the EQUALIZERS, SELECT FUTURE, SNAPSHOTS and UNSTOPPABLE inserts.
Significantly rarer and classified by Panini as case hits are the ARTISTIC IMPRESSIONS, TEAM BADGES, VISIONARY and the highly popular STAINED GLASS insert cards among collectors.
Autograph Cards
For autograph cards, collectors can look forward to cards featuring signatures from stars such as Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi, Erling Haaland or Neymar Jr.
New among the autograph card categories in Select Soccer collections this year are SELECT FEW SIGNATURES, SELECT STARS SIGNATURES and the SELECT PAIRINGS Dual Autographs, which feature autographs from two players.
Relic & Autograph Relic Cards
Panini has not yet provided detailed information about the other categories of the collection that include cards with memorabilia. However, preview images already suggest that the AUTOGRAPHED MEMORABILIA cards will once again be part of Select collections this year.
Availability
Each hobby box of the collection contains 60 cards, distributed across 12 packs with 5 cards each. On average, according to Panini, these include 3 autograph, relic or autograph relic cards as well as 5 numbered parallel cards.
Blaster boxes or mega boxes offer a more affordable entry point, although they do not include guaranteed autograph cards, they do feature exclusive parallels that can only be pulled from these products.
The release date announced by Panini for 2025-26 PANINI Select Road to FIFA World Cup 2026 Soccer Cards is Wednesday, the 22nd of July 2026. Short-term changes to this date are possible at any time and should be taken into account.
From that point on, the boxes will be available in the Panini America online shop or from retailers specializing in sports cards.
