Description
After the licensing rights for the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) moved from previous license holder Parkside Collectibles to Panini at the start of the new season, the first hobby collection in Optichrome style is now making its way to collectors with the 2026 PANINI Donruss Optic NWSL Soccer Cards. Just a few days earlier, Panini had already released the paper version with the 2026 PANINI Donruss NWSL Soccer Cards.
Base Cards
The collection’s BASE SET consists of 250 cards and is divided into the two subsets VETERANS and RATED ROOKIES, showcasing the current stars and most promising young players from the 16 NWSL teams in classic Donruss style.
Parallels
For the 2026 NWSL Donruss Optic collection, 7 different parallel variants have been created, two of which are unnumbered, while the other five are numbered to /149 or lower. The Optic Pink Shimmer parallels, numbered to /3, are exclusive to the First off the Line (FOTL) boxes, which are scheduled to be released a week ahead of the official release date.
Insert Cards
For the inserts, Panini is bringing back the ELITE SERIES, NET MARVELS, PITCH QUEENS and ROOKIE QUEENS that are typical of Donruss collections. Other categories feature FIELD LEVEL, FRANCHISE FEATURES and TUNNEL VISION cards, which have already appeared in WNBA basketball collections.
The case hits include the new KISMET inserts, NIGHT MOVES and the DOWNTOWN cards that are so popular and sought after among collectors.
Autograph Cards
Autographs from 50 different players and legends of the league are spread across the two autograph card categories SIGNATURE SERIES and THE BEAUTIFUL GAME AUTOGRAPHS. Panini does not specify exactly how many autographs are included in each box, as the box specifications only state that the boxes contain 3 autograph or relic cards.
Relic Cards
The relic cards mentioned above come in the two traditional Donruss formats KIT QUEENS and KIT SERIES. The cards in both categories are numbered to /199 in their standard versions and come with five parallel variants numbered to /99 or lower.
Availability
Each hobby box of the 2026 Donruss Optic NWSL collection contains 80 cards, divided into 16 packs of 5 cards each. According to Panini, collectors should find 3 autograph or relic cards as well as 4 numbered parallel cards per box.
The release date announced by Panini for 2026 PANINI Donruss Optic NWSL Soccer Cards is Wednesday, the 14th of October 2026.
From that date, the boxes will be available from the Panini America online shop or from retailers specializing in sports cards.
