Description
What awaited visitors to last year’s UEFA Champions League final as a Match Attax box containing 30 cards has been expanded by Topps this season into an on-demand hobby set almost twice the size. With the 2023-24 TOPPS UEFA Champions League Final London 24 Soccer Cards, Topps pays tribute to the two finalists, Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid C.F., with a set created specifically for the UEFA Champions League final in London.
Base Cards
The base set comprises 60 cards in total, including 20 cards dedicated to the current squads of each of the two finalists. These are joined by 20 Story of the Season cards featuring special moments from the 2023/24 UEFA Champions League season.
Parallels
As usual for on-demand sets, Topps has produced 6 different parallel variations of the base cards, numbered to /99 or lower. At least that was the information originally provided by Topps. For the version ultimately released, Topps appears to have reduced the number of variations to 5, meaning that the highest numbering for the base parallels is /49. Only some of the autograph cards still have parallels numbered to /99 available in the packs.
Autograph Cards
Lucky collectors can also find one of 27 different autograph cards featuring players from both finalists in an average of every second Topps London 2024 box. Borussia Dortmund has 15 players represented with an autograph card in the set, while Real Madrid C.F. has 12 players from the current squad.
Availability
According to Topps, each TOPPS UEFA Champions League Final 2024 Cards box contains 30 cards, spread across 6 packs with 5 cards each. Since the 2 parallels included in each box and any autograph card do not replace base cards but have instead been added to the packs by Topps, a box can contain as many as 33 cards in the best case.
The release date announced by Topps for 2023-24 TOPPS UEFA Champions League Final London 24 Soccer Cards is Saturday, the 1st of June 2024.
The UCL Final 2024 boxes are available exclusively through Topps’ UK online shop. Interested buyers from the European Union should be aware that import VAT and a flat fee charged by the shipping provider may be added on top of the price paid to Topps when placing an order.
