Description
For the 2023 Formula 1 season, Topps is once again releasing the accompanying, more premium Sapphire version, a few weeks after the launch of the F1 Chrome cards. The 2023 Topps Chrome Sapphire Edition Formula 1 Racing Cards are Topps’ fourth Sapphire release for the pinnacle of motorsport.
Base Cards
One of the defining features of the F1 Sapphire Edition, which mirrors the entire 200-card base set of the 2023 Chrome F1 collection, is its coloured Sapphire parallels, with up to 4 included in each Hobby box.
The Short Print Base Image Variations are also among the more sought-after collectibles in the 2023 Topps Chrome Sapphire Edition Formula 1 collection. Due to the fairly limited production run of the boxes, these are among the rarest cards in existence for the 2023 Formula 1 season.
Parallels
Collectors can find a total of 7 different parallel versions of the base cards in the collection’s packs. The highest serial numbering belongs to the Aqua parallels, numbered /99. The other versions are Gold /50, Orange /25, Black & White /15, Purple /10, Red /5 and the Padparadscha 1/1 parallels, of which only one exists per card.
Insert Cards
Topps does not carry over the insert sets from the regular Chrome collection to the Sapphire Edition. However, with Sapphire Selections, the Sapphire Edition has received its own exclusive insert set for the first time.
Autograph Cards
Based on these new Sapphire Selection cards, collectors can also find autograph cards in the packs for the first time in the history of the Formula 1 Chrome Sapphire Edition collections.
Availability
Each Hobby box of the 2023 F1 Chrome Sapphire Edition contains a total of 32 cards featuring the signature blue Cracked Ice look of the Sapphire Edition, spread across 8 packs with 4 cards each. These always include 4 parallel cards or cards from the Short Print Base Image Variations category.
The release date announced by Topps for 2023 TOPPS Chrome Sapphire Edition Formula 1 Racing Cards is Friday, the 1st of March 2024.
From that date, the boxes are available in the Topps online shop.
