Description
For many collectors, an era is coming to an end this year: After 18 seasons, Topps is discontinuing its Match Attax cards for the German Bundesliga. Instead, the company is moving towards what it calls the Flagship collection, as it has already done with the Premier League, placing a greater focus on traditional sports cards. It also serves as the foundation for further collections that will be released throughout the season. These include the Chrome cards for the Bundesliga, which are expected to be released next spring.
So far, Topps has only released limited information about the Bundesliga Flagship collection, so this article will be updated with further details as they become available.
Base Cards
The BASE SET of the 2026-27 TOPPS Flagship Bundesliga Soccer Cards collection consists of 200 cards and is divided into 4 subsets: BUNDESLIGA, featuring established stars and rookies, FUTURE STARS, 2. BUNDESLIGA and LEAGUE LEADERS.
Insert Cards
For the inserts, Topps is offering 18 categories that showcase the league’s stars across a variety of themes. Some of these, such as ALL KINGS, BEAST MODE, BLACK EDGE, DIAMOND ROOKIES, HOME PITCH, ON FIRE and ULTRA BEAST MODE, have already been used by Topps in the Flagship collection for the English Premier League.
Autograph Cards
In addition to the BASE AUTOGRAPHS, which feature the same subsets as the base cards, the collection includes 7 further autograph card categories.
The CLASS OF 75-76 AUTOGRAPHS and LEGEND AUTOGRAPHS put some of the most respected players from previous years in the spotlight, while the BLACK EDGE AUTOGRAPHS, MATCHWINNER AUTOGRAPHS, ON FIRE AUTOGRAPHS, STARS OF THE BUNDESLIGA AUTOGRAPHS and VISION AUTOGRAPHS are the autograph versions of the corresponding insert categories.
Relic Cards
With the BASE RELICS, Bundesliga fans can also pull cards featuring embedded pieces of jerseys from the collection’s packs.
Availability
Topps will launch pre-orders on October 13, allowing interested collectors to secure and pre-order the first products from the collection.
The release date announced by Topps for 2026-27 TOPPS Flagship Bundesliga Soccer Cards is Thursday, the 12th of November 2026. Short-term changes to this date are possible at any time and should be taken into account.
From that date, the boxes will be available from the Topps online store or from retailers specializing in sports cards.
