Description
After taking a break for the 2025 season, the Topps Midnight Football Cards return with the 2026 edition. The collection stays true to its dark Chrome look, combining black or heavily darkened backgrounds with bold color accents and imagery centered around night, the moon and twilight. The checklist features the current rookies from the 2026 class as well as established NFL stars. Alongside the 100-card BASE SET, the main focus is on a broad selection of autograph and autograph relic cards.
Base Cards
The BASE SET of the 2026 Topps Midnight Football collection consists of 100 cards in total. Visually, the series remains true to the familiar Midnight concept, featuring dark Chrome surfaces, bold contrasts and atmospheric backgrounds.
Insert Cards
For the inserts, Topps consistently continues the collection’s nighttime theme. A total of eight categories are part of the checklist, including CONSTELLATIONS, DREAM LAND, EARTHSHINE, INSOMNIA and NIGHTBALL.
Particular attention is on the CELESTIAL ROOTS, NIGHT NIGHT and TWILIGHT inserts, which have been announced as short-print chase cards. Twilight returns from previous Midnight products, while Celestial Roots and Night Night are making their first appearance in the Football edition.
Autograph Cards
With eight different categories, autographs play an important role within the collection. Returning series include HORIZON SIGNATURES and ROOKIE HORIZON SIGNATURES. Also back are the STROKE OF MIDNIGHT AUTOGRAPHS, which focus on 15 selected NFL veterans.
MIDNIGHT OIL MARKS and DARK MATTER AUTOGRAPHS are two concepts appearing in Midnight Football for the first time. Both had previously been featured in Midnight Basketball. The Midnight Oil Marks put rookies from the current Draft class in the spotlight, while the Dark Matter Autographs include current and former NFL stars.
The autograph lineup is completed by BASE AUTOGRAPHS, COUNTDOWN CALLIGRAPHY and TENEBROUS TRACES AUTOGRAPHS.
Autograph Relic Cards
For the autograph relic cards, the checklist includes three different categories. REM RELIC AUTOGRAPHS make their debut in Midnight Football and feature a horizontal card design with two separate memorabilia windows. The focus here is on rookies from the 2026 class.
Also new to Midnight Football are the MOONLIT MATERIALS SIGNATURES. Their defining feature is a large moon motif that shapes the design around the autograph and memorabilia.
The section is completed by the returning ROOKIE JERSEY AUTOGRAPH RELICS.
