Shortly after the start of the Women’s European Football Championship in Switzerland, Topps is releasing an official card collection for the tournament under the Merlin brand. In each box of 2025 TOPPS Merlin UEFA Women’s Euro Soccer Cards, collectors will find 1 Autograph Card and 3 numbered Parallels.
Description
For the Women’s Euro, held in Switzerland from 2 to 27 July, Topps initially only supplied collectors with an official sticker collection. Exactly two weeks after the tournament begins, they are following up by launching the 2025 TOPPS Merlin UEFA Women’s Euro Soccer Cards as a dedicated hobby collection.
With the historic Merlin brand, which originated in Europe, the collection features a classic design inspired by the iconic Merlin stickers of the 1990s. Collectors can look forward to the stars of all 16 teams competing in the UEFA Women’s Euro.
However, as expected, the licensing situation has not changed since the sticker collection. For the teams of Germany, England, France and Italy, the original kits and federation crests will not be featured on the cards.
Base Cards
The collection consists of a 158-card base set, which Topps has divided into seven different themes: Dual Partnerships, Euro Stars, Euro Stars Image Variation, Fairytale Moments, Mystic Nights, National Debutant Variation and Peak Power.
Parallels
For this on-demand collection, there are seven numbered parallel versions (/99, /75, /50, /25, /10, /5, 1/1), two of which can be found in every box of Topps Merlin UEFA Women’s Euros 2025 Cards.
Insert Cards
In addition to the themes in the base set, there are two insert categories whose cards are significantly rarer in the boxes: the particularly popular Renaissance Cards, well-known from earlier Merlin collections, and the Basel at Night Inserts, which transfer the design of the “at Night” cards from the men’s Chrome collections into this series. However, all of this will likely be without the popular Chrome effect, as the Merlin cards for the Women’s Euro are currently expected to be a purely paper-based set.
Autograph Cards
Collectors can look forward to 111 different Autograph Cards across six thematic categories, including 25 Short Print Autographs and 9 Dual Autograph Cards featuring two signatures from top stars of this European Championship.
There is also the Only1 category, included in all on-demand sets this season, featuring a unique on-card autograph from a star whose identity has not yet been revealed.
Autograph Relic Cards
One of the highlights of the collection is the Matchball Signature Relics, which include not only a star’s autograph but also a piece of the tournament’s official match ball. Topps does not provide specific odds on how often these rare inserts or relics can be pulled from boxes, simply stating that they can be found in “lucky boxes”.
Availability
Each box contains 40 cards, split into 8 packs of 5 cards each. Every box includes one Autograph Card and three numbered Parallels. Additionally, lucky collectors will find an extra bonus Autograph Card in roughly every fifth box.
The release date announced by Topps for 2025 TOPPS Merlin UEFA Women's Euro Soccer Cards is Wednesday, the 16th of July 2025.
From that date, the Topps UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 Merlin Boxes will be offered via Topps’ European online shops. After production and shipping – which typically takes 6–8 weeks for on-demand sets – the boxes will also be available from specialised sports card retailers.
