Description
Topps continues rolling out its collections for the 2023/24 season of the European club competitions and treats collectors to the popular Merlin Chrome cards at the end of September. Inspired by the classic designs of the traditional British brand from the 80s, Topps presents the current stars and best young talents on cards with a Chrome finish in the 2023-24 TOPPS Merlin UEFA Club Competitions Soccer Cards collection.
Base Cards
The BASE SET of the UEFA Merlin collection contains 146 cards, almost the same size collectors will know from previous years, and is complemented by the already familiar Short-Print BASE ROOKIE IMAGE VARIATION cards.
Parallels
There are changes compared with the previous year’s collection when it comes to the Parallel variants, which Topps has expanded once again, pushing the collection’s overall print run even higher. The Neon Green Shimmer Parallels with the highest serial numbering are increased from /350 to /399. Topps also introduces a new variant with the Yellow Shimmer Parallels numbered to /175. The Parallels numbered to /10 are brought in line with the Chrome collections and change from red to black this year. Red, in line with the other Topps Chrome collections, is now used exclusively for the Parallels numbered to /5, which this year can also be found for the Image Variations and Inserts.
Insert Cards
The collecting experience is expanded by 6 Insert categories, with Topps carrying over two from the previous year’s collection and adding four new ones. Alongside the familiar AGELESS ALCHEMY and the extremely rare RENAISSANCE Inserts, this year sees the addition of MERLIN’S CHOSEN ONE, MYSTIC NIGHTS, the rare SWORD cards and the Blaster-exclusive MERLIN’S GAMERS Inserts.
Collectors hunting for THE GRAIL cards, which Topps has spread across various collections, have the chance to add two more cards to their collection with the Topps 2023/24 UCC Merlin collection.
Autograph Cards
Collectors who are hunting for signed trading cards are well served by the Autograph Card included in every Hobby box. As in the previous year’s Topps Merlin Soccer collection, SORCERERS AUTOGRAPHS once again appears as a dedicated Autograph category whose cards cannot be found as Inserts in the collection.
Autograph Relic Cards
The MERLIN’S MATCH BALL SIGNATURE RELIC cards have by now become a regular feature of the Merlin Chrome collection and, alongside a player’s autograph, also contain a piece of an official match ball from the European club competition fixtures.
Availability
Each Hobby box in the collection contains 72 cards, spread across 18 packs with 4 cards each. According to Topps, these should always include 1 Autograph Card and 3 numbered Parallel cards. As an additional incentive, Topps has placed so-called Sorcerer packs in selected boxes, containing 4 Purple Vintage Autograph cards as a bonus, all numbered to /8.
The release date announced by Topps for 2023-24 TOPPS Merlin UEFA Club Competitions Soccer Cards is Friday, the 20th of September 2024.
From that point on, the products are available from the Topps online shop or from retailers specializing in sports cards.

Hallo Collectosk,
