Description
The stars of the 2024 season of the US Major League Soccer (MLS) return once again and present themselves to collectors in the 2024 TOPPS Chrome Sapphire Edition Major League Soccer Cards collection.
Base Cards
The Sapphire Edition takes over the complete 200-card Base Set from the Chrome main collection and gives it the signature blue look of Sapphire Cards. This means that 2 Subsets are integrated into the Base Set here as well: the MLS Flashbacks with Major League Soccer legends and the Pitch Prodigies with the league’s promising young talents. The Base Set is rounded out by 9 Base Image Variation Cards.
Parallels
With the Parallels, things are considerably more straightforward. The Topps MLS Chrome Sapphire Edition received only 5 Parallel variants, which are numbered to /50 or lower. This underlines, among other things, the significantly smaller print run of Sapphire boxes compared to the Chrome main collection.
Insert Cards
There are three Insert categories in the Topps MLS Sapphire Edition 2024: the historic Topps 1964 Chrome Inserts carried over from the Chrome main collection and finished with the Sapphire look, and the two Sapphire Edition-exclusive Infinite Sapphire and Sapphire Selections Inserts.
Autograph Cards
Collectors of Autograph Cards can look forward to 50 different Base Autographs in the Sapphire look featuring the league’s current stars. This includes several players who were not represented with an Autograph Card in the Chrome main collection. These are complemented by the Sapphire Selections Autographs produced exclusively for this edition. In both categories, Argentina’s superstar Lionel Messi can of course be found, and his autographs undoubtedly rank among the most sought-after in the collection.
Availability
Each Hobby Box of the 2024 MLS Sapphire collection contains 32 Cards, spread across 8 Packs with 4 Cards each, and it always includes 1 Autograph Card.
The release date announced by Topps for 2024 TOPPS Chrome Sapphire Edition Major League Soccer Cards is Thursday, the 2nd of January 2025.
From that time onward, the products in the collection will be available in the Topps online shop or from retailers specializing in sportscards.
