Long awaited by fans, Topps is releasing its first Chrome collection for tennis. Alongside current stars, the 2021 TOPPS Chrome Tennis Cards also offer collectors a large number of legends of the sport, which can be pulled from the two product formats, Hobby Box and Hobby Lite Box.

Description
For the first time, Topps is releasing a Chrome collection dedicated to the popular sport played with the yellow felt ball. Although several current stars such as Coco Gauff have made it onto the cards, thanks to the collaboration with the International Tennis Hall of Fame, prominent names from earlier days dominate the checklist of the 2021 TOPPS Chrome Tennis Cards collection.
Base Cards
At the heart of the new collection is the BASE SET, which consists of a total of 100 cards and presents collectors with current stars of the tour and many legends of the sport.
Parallels
For these cards, Topps has produced 16 parallel variants, 3 of which are unnumbered, while the other 13 are numbered to /199 or lower. Some of the parallels are product exclusives and can therefore only be pulled from the Hobby Box or the Hobby Lite Box.
Insert Cards
Collectors can look forward to 3 themed insert categories. Through its double meaning, ACES combines the look of a deck of playing cards with the players’ service motion.
BATTLE OF THE BASELINES presents exciting baseline duels on a dual card, while RINGS OF HONOR puts prominent ring recipients of the International Tennis Hall of Fame in the spotlight.
Autograph Cards
Topps was able to secure autographs from 90 different stars and legends for this first Chrome release. Most of the BASE AUTOGRAPHS, numbered to /50 in the standard version, and their associated parallels can only be pulled from the collection’s Hobby Boxes. However, it is certainly interesting that Topps has included two particularly low-numbered parallel variants of the autograph cards, Black & White RayWave, /5, and Black & White Mini-Diamonds, /4, exclusively in the Hobby Lite Boxes.
Unlike many other Chrome releases, the 2021 TOPPS Chrome Tennis Cards do not promise a guaranteed autograph per box, so you need a little luck to pull one from your box. The pack odds indicate an autograph in approximately every 3rd Hobby Box and approximately every 24th Hobby Lite Box.
Availability
The release date announced by Topps for 2021 TOPPS Chrome Tennis Cards is Friday, the 19th of May 2023.
From that date, the boxes are available from the Topps online shop or from retailers specializing in sports cards.
