A little more than a year after the last Chrome Tennis release, Topps ventures onto the court again, this time with a significantly more extensive collection. In the 2024 TOPPS Chrome Tennis Cards boxes, collectors will find the current stars of the tennis tour, joined by big names from years gone by.

Description
After the 2021 Chrome Tennis collection met with little enthusiasm among collectors due to its late release in 2023, Topps is making another attempt for 2024 with a set that is significantly more up to date in terms of content than its predecessor.
Base Cards
The 2024 TOPPS Chrome Tennis collection brings collectors a 200-card Base Set that features not only current players from the ATP and WTA tours, but also numerous legends of the sport.
Parallels
Topps has produced 21 different Parallel variants for the set, 5 of which are unnumbered and 16 numbered to /499 or lower. Some of the Parallel variants can only be found exclusively in specific products from the collection. Details can be found in the checklist further down.
Insert Cards
The Base cards are complemented by 9 Insert Sets, adding another 185 cards to the collection. Alongside the Aces, Captured, Centre Court, Grand Slam Champions and Served inserts, which appear relatively frequently in packs, the Game, Set, Match, Let’s Go, Patriotic Pride and, note the pun, Toppspin inserts are extremely rare and in some cases appear in only every 10th case.
Unlike with other collections, Topps has revealed through the checklist that the highly sought-after Hidden Gems will also be found in the Chrome Tennis 2024 boxes. As usual, however, Topps provides no information on the odds of pulling one from a pack.
Autograph Cards
Topps divides the collection’s 151 different Base Autograph cards into two Base Autograph categories, primarily due to the different number of Parallel variants, and adds an Image Variation Autograph category. These are joined by another 35 Autograph cards from the two Insert categories Aces and Served, as well as the 10 Dual Autograph cards, featuring the autographs of two tennis greats on a single trading card.
One particular highlight of the Topps Tennis collection is the Dual Autograph card shared by veteran Novak Djokovic and currently highly successful young star Carlos Alcaraz. Although Topps has also brought together Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka, the two top players in the WTA rankings, on one card, it is unlikely to generate anywhere near the same level of demand as the card featuring their two male counterparts.
Availability
The release date announced by Topps for 2024 TOPPS Chrome Tennis Cards is Wednesday, the 21st of August 2024.
From that date, the boxes are available through the Topps online shop or from retailers specializing in sports cards.
