Panini’s Obsidian Cards enter their fifth season and bring collectors the stars of international football on specially refined Opti-Chrome Cards into their homes. From every Hobby Box of 2023-24 PANINI Obsidian Soccer Cards, 4 Autograph or Memorabilia Cards can be pulled.
Description
Panini’s Obsidian series inspired by volcanic glass enters a new season and presents collectors with the stars of international football from the 2023/24 season, featuring a mix of club and national teams. Numerous legends who have left their mark on football over the past decades also enrich the 2023-24 PANINI Obsidian Soccer Cards collection.
Base Cards
Collectors can look forward to a 200 Cards strong Base Set, whose Cards are numbered to /120 and therefore limited in quantity. Only one of these Base Cards can be found in each Hobby Box, making completion of the Base Set a rather secondary objective for this collection.
Parallels
For the Base Set, Panini adds the Electric Etch Parallels typical for Obsidian collections, with 13 different variants included in the collection. Nine of them are exclusive to the Hobby Box, while the Red Pulsar, Red Crystals and Red Flood Parallels can only be pulled from the Hobby International Box. The White Pulsar Parallels are not found in boxes, as they are reserved for the White Pulsar Packs that Panini America offers in its online shop for the redemption of 2,000 Redemption Points.
Insert Cards
6 Insert Sets await collectors. The Equinox, Supernova, Tunnel Vision and Vitreous Inserts are complemented by the two Case Hits Black Color Blast and the new White Night Inserts.
Autograph Cards
The main focus of the 2023-24 PANINI Obsidian Soccer collection is on the Autograph and Memorabilia Cards, of which 4 can be found in every Hobby Box. The Autograph Cards are divided into the 3 categories Aurora Autographs, Lightning Strike Signatures and Volcanic Signatures.
Red Crystal / Red Flood & Red Pulsar Parallels (Hobby International Box exclusive)
Relic Cards
The 5 Relic Card categories Atomic Material, Cutting Edge, Eruption, Galaxy Gear & Trifecta Material offer collectors Cards with varying numbers of 1–3 jersey pieces per trading card.
Autograph Relic Cards
Highlights of the collection are the 4 Autograph Relic categories Jersey Autographs, Matrix Material Autographs, Volcanic Material Signatures as well as the Dual Jersey Ink Cards with 2 jersey pieces and autograph from one of the stars of this collection.
Availability
Every Hobby Box of the collection contains 1 Pack with 7 Cards. These include 4 Autograph or Memorabilia Cards, plus 1 Parallel Card, 1 Insert or Insert Parallel Card and 1 Base Card.
The Hobby International Box, released later and exclusively equipped with the Red Flood, Red Crystals and Red Pulsar Parallels, contains 1 Pack with 5 Cards. These include 2 Autograph or Memorabilia Cards.
The release date announced by Panini for 2023-24 PANINI Obsidian Soccer Cards is Wednesday, the 30th of October 2024.
